Bethlehem button pendant
This mother of pearl button was carved in Israel which is why they are known as Bethlehem buttons. The Bethlehem buttons have been carved for centuries by christians supposedly dating back to the time of the crusades but most that we find now were done between the 1920's to the 1950s. This particular piece has intricate carving on the side and a flower carved in the center of the button. Every Bethlehem button is a one of a kind work of art. They are hand cut and polished mother of pearl. We have set this beautiful button in sterling and you can see the silver right through the carving in the button. The pendant has a rope edge and bead highlights at the bottom.. Own a piece of history! this pendant measures 2 inches tall and 1.6 inches wide.
